Winter Activities for Seniors

There are many winter activities for seniors in Charlotte, NC that you and your family can enjoy. Whether you are looking for some outdoor fun, cultural experiences or festive events; here are some great options for all to enjoy. 

Get Moving

Attend fitness classes, join in on a card game or learn something new at an info session with Charlotte Mecklenburg Parks and Recreation. Most of these events are free or at a discounted rate for seniors.

Enjoy watching the ice skating or walking along the light art paths at the U.S. Whitewater Center while sipping a hot chocolate. They do have an elevator from the parking lot making access easy for those with mobility issues.

Enjoy a Light Show

Hop in the car with family members or friends and check out a few light shows. 

In Concord you can drive through the Speedway Lights and enjoy the Christmas Village.

One of the most famous Christmas neighborhoods is right outside of Charlotte in McAdenville. You can drive or walk to enjoy all the extraordinary lights put up by the residents there.

Wear your ugly Christmas sweater to the North Carolina Christmas Festival at the Cabarrus Arena on December 17th. There will be free gift wrapping, food and entertainment for the whole family.

Get crafty and make your own candles at The Candle Bar or make your own wreath at Plant House.
